VAT for guests and hosts

Guests

VAT is charged on the guest service fee for a reservation. If you change your reservation, VAT adjusts to reflect any change in the service fee.

Hosts

VAT is charged on the host service fee for a reservation. If a reservation is changed, VAT is adjusted to reflect any change in the service fee. Depending on your country of residence or the location of your listing, you may need to assess VAT (or other taxes such as occupancy taxes) on the accommodation services you provide to guests. Consult your tax advisor for assistance.

Taxes for guests on Livjaza

Sometimes, regulations require hosts to charge a tax to guests. While Livjaza recommends that hosts include it in the price of the reservation, some hosts may require it to be paid directly upon check-in.

Note taxes in the listing

Hosts should explain any necessary taxes in their listing description and communicate with guests before booking. If you’re a guest, ask your host about taxes ahead of time to stay informed.

Adding your VAT ID number to Livjaza

Suppose you have a Value Added Tax (VAT) ID number registered with the European Commission or an authority outside the European Union (EU). In that case, you may want to add it to your Livjaza account. To add your VAT ID number:

Go to Account > Taxes.
Click "Add VAT ID Number."
Enter your VAT ID number verification information.
Click "Add."
